Another Good Facebook Security Tool

Facebook Security Settings

Recently added to my Facebook account’s “Account Security” setting under “Account Settings,” was an option to send an email when a new computer logs on to Facebook. For example, I just used iPhoto on my Mac to upload a video to Facebook. Here’s the email I received:

Hi Peter Nikolaidis,

Your Facebook account was accessed using iPhoto Uploader (Today at 1:56pm)

Was this you? If so, you can disregard the rest of this email.

If this wasn’t you, please follow the link below to protect your account:

To learn how login notifications like this one can help you to protect your account information, visit the Help Center:http://www.facebook.com/help/?topic=loginnotifications.
Please note: Facebook will never request your login information through email.

Thanks,
The Facebook Team

Additionally, scrolling down, you can see your Account Activity, which shows recent logins from different computers once you’ve enabled this setting. This is something that you should enable to help quickly detect if your account has been compromised.
